I Wonder Where the Birdies Is...?

Just had a strange thought. (It's not uncommon for me to have strange thoughts!)
I put some bird seeds and nuts out on New Years Eve for the feathered friends who visit our garden in abundance at this time of year.
They're still there - untouched by birdy beaks. And now I come to think of it, I haven't seen a single bird since before New Year. Not one.
There aren't any today either - oh, I tell a lie, a seagull has just flown by, but where are all the sparrows, and starlings, and robins, and tits, and finches????
I mentioned this to her indoors who said she'd just heard on the radio that a warning has been issued to visitors to Seaton Carew (a coastal resort thirty or so miles away) to take care as "the birds have gone a bit mental!"
So that's where they all are. Typical Brits on holiday - causing mayhem as usual and frightening all the Seagulls inland! Bless 'em!

Light Relief

After the trauma of losing my computer over the weekend Emily has brought me some well earned light relief by wrestling with Pepper..... and proving, once and for all, that the sun definitely shines out of her.... by beatiing the cat hands down!!
a distressed Pepper decided to hide herself under the coffee table for the rest of the evening!!

Bless her!

The Squirrels of Stewart Park.

Found these friendly little fellows on a recent visit to a local park. They were particularly friendly (probably because we had lots of fruit to spare!) and came right up to our seat, much to the amusement of Emily, who'd never seen squirrels so close.

ABC Wednesday - V is for...

The 'V'isitor with a 'V'oracious Appetite

Snapped this little chap, chomping on a snail (shell and everything!) behind one of our flowerpots. Quite odd to see a Hedgehog in the daytime so I had to take a few snaps of him. He didn't seem particularly phased by his new-found celebrity and happily chomped on some of our left over Sunday lunch.

(I say 'chap' - could be a 'chap-ess'!!)

Found the Unicorn!!!

I failed to post a picture on last week's ABC Wednesday but (rather oddly) said that my post would have been a winner as it was "something to do with Union Jacks, Upturned Umbrella's and a Unicorn' (Last week's letter being 'U' of course!!)

Well, I found at least one component of that trio (and this is a genuine photograph!!)
This is a Unicorn Deer
A 'real' discovery (unless I've got the dates wrong and it's actually April 1st!)
